The Top Wedding Décor Trends of 2025

A wedding’s colors, textures, and designs all have a major impact on a big day’s look and feel: These decorative elements all work together to create a highly memorable, tactile experience for guests, one that’s filled with emblems of the pair’s relationship.

In 2024, to-be-weds paid especially close attention to their wedding décor. Throughout the year, nuptials saw interesting patterns displayed throughout paper goods, dramatic draping suspended across walls and ceilings, fruit accents planted and piled on tables, and unique light fixtures featured throughout each space. Vintage-style aesthetics and European-inspired designs also took off, thanks to the effortless romance and luxury they evoke. Inspired by Hollywood trends, runway shows, and social media, many 2024 wedding decorations sought to express the couple’s background and style and make a lasting impression on others.

Custom-Built Structures

In keeping with the highly personalized nature of nuptials, 2025 weddings will include custom-built structures that push boundaries, according to Kostechko. Instead of renting a plain white tent for an al fresco celebration, many couples will host their affairs in architectural, one-of-a-kind builds. Kostechko says colorful truss structures and unconventionally shaped greenhouses will be some of the trends to look out for. Meanwhile, innovative flooring in an array of colors and prints—whether it’s covering a venue’s preexisting woodwork or incorporated into an outdoor structure—will also pop up in the coming months.

Breathtaking Natural Backdrops

Throughout 2025, couples will continue looking for ways to provide their guests with an incredible wedding experience. According to Genevieve de la Cruz, founder of Events by Genevieve, one of the most seamless and impactful ways to “wow” attendees is by holding your affair in a scenic setting. In the coming months, to-be-weds will be trading vows and hitting the dance floor while overlooking a picturesque site in nature. Whether it’s a vast ocean, mountain ridges, a redwood grove, or a sprawling field, these natural backdrops will “take their breath away,” de la Cruz says of invitees’ reactions.

Neutral Ombré Hues

While neutral color palettes will never go out of style, these classic hues will experience an upgrade in 2025: Sojourner Judson, owner of Erganic Design, says neutrals will take on an ombré effect at many 2025 soirées. “For example, starting with shades of white and ivory, moving to taupe and beige tones, and then moving into brown tones,” she cites as a potential color scheme. This design choice is perfect for couples who want to throw a wedding with a minimalist or organic aesthetic that still makes a subtle statement.

Unexpected Color Combinations

On the contrary, for 2025 couples who want to paint their fête in a range of bold hues, Lauryn Prattes, owner of Lauryn Prattes Styling and Events, says to-be-weds will be creating unconventional color combinations that still complement one another. Prattes suspects that aqua and red will be one sought-after wedding color scheme. Hot pink and royal blue, emerald green and dusty lilac, and saffron and cornflower are some other unexpected pairings the year may have in store. Another color sure to be at the forefront of groundbreaking design? Verona Sunset, the Minted + BRIDES Wedding Color of the Year 2025; the punchy orange shades plays well with all kinds of uplifting hues, from blue and yellow to green.

Quiet Luxury Aesthetics

Mirroring the movement in pop culture, “quiet luxury” will also play a role in 2025 wedding décor. Aesthetics that follow this trend will look polished and luxurious in a way that’s subtle and tasteful, not overly extravagant. “This trend stems from a desire for understated elegance, with couples opting for simplicity, quality, and a sophisticated feel rather than a traditionally ‘overdone’ look,” says Susan Dunne, owner of Weddings by Susan Dunne. Soft palettes, clean designs, minimalist materials, and subtle textures will create an elevated ambience that embraces the less-is-more approach.

Graphic Design Elements

Expect to see graphic design elements embedded throughout wedding stationery and larger installations in 2025, Judson says. Whether it’s a custom logo stamped on the invitations, a bold typeface displayed on a welcome sign, creative illustrations engraved on the seating chart, a unique print wrapped around the bar, or geometric shapes etched on the menu cards, these visual, artistic details will certainly grab guests’ attention and help create a cohesive, personalized affair.

Locally Sourced Décor

Since sustainability is a priority for many modern couples, in 2025, locally sourced, eco-friendly décor will maintain its prevalence on tablescapes. Building a runner with natural elements from local vendors, like farm-grown fruits and vegetables, will help minimize waste while infusing nuptials with color and texture. “This approach not only reduces their carbon footprint, but it also adds depth to the celebration,” Dunne notes. Instead of simply scattering citrus and greens down the length of the table, couples will think outside of the box with their display, such as arranging produce “growing” from a bed of moss or soil.

Layered Linens

The tabletops at 2025 wedding receptions will be brimming with depth and dimension, thanks to layered fabrics in various colors, prints, and materials. Throughout the coming year, couples will wrap their reception tables in tablecloths, topped with linen runners and napkins. “[2025 weddings] will continue layering different complementary patterns and textures to create a more visually dynamic tablescape,” Judson says. For instance, a baby blue satin tablecloth that’s stacked with a striped white runner and gauzy beige napkins will look unified and intentional yet visually striking at a wedding reception.

Immersive Lighting

Just like 2024 nuptials, weddings in the foreseeable future will emphasize lighting. With candlelit pathways, lamp-lined tables, and crystal chandeliers, the light fixtures that a couple chooses will help them produce the ambiance they’re going for, from romantic to moody. “When paired with a well-designed dinner reception ‘run of show’ with orchestrated dinner service and an incredible musical soundtrack, it truly elevates the overall guest experience,” Judson remarks. Prattes also suspects interior-design focused fixtures will be another notable lighting trend on the horizon in 2025.
