The Most Popular Wedding Dates for 2025

Before you can send out your save-the-dates and inform your wedding party of their upcoming obligations, there’s a crucial task you and your partner will need to check off your list in the early stages of the planning process: selecting your date. In addition to knowing the time of year when you’d prefer to tie the knot, you’ll also need to weigh family obligations, travel plans, and even work schedules. However, before you decide on the day to say “I do,” you may want to consider the most popular wedding dates for the upcoming year, as these can dictate whether or not your dream venue and vendors have availability for your celebration.

If you plan to hold your nuptials during wedding season, which runs from April to October, know that many Saturdays within that time frame are some of the most requested dates for tying the knot. Yet, as expected, some are more popular than others. Typically, couples tend to avoid scheduling their ceremony close to family-focused holidays, such as Thanksgiving or Christmas. However, in recent years, many opt to take advantage of three-day summer weekends, such as those including Memorial Day or Labor Day, to make space for a longer celebration; that seems unlikely to change in 2025.

Astrologically-inclined couples may have reserved a date that takes planetary movements into account, ensuring that their celebration is marked by a positive aura. “Choosing a date with this kind of symbolism can make your wedding day feel not just special, but cosmically significant,” says Jessica Hennessey, the lead planner and designer at Jessica Hennessey Weddings.

Below, wedding planners and an astrology expert break down the most popular wedding dates for 2025, as well as those you may want to avoid.

The Most Popular Wedding Dates for 2025

When it comes to the most common wedding dates for the upcoming year, there are many factors to consider—from significant astrological events to long weekends. Here, industry experts explain some of the forces behind these popular days.

Dates Associated With Beautiful Weather

“Whether it’s symbolism or the season, some dates just have a magnetic pull,” says Michelle Durpetti, the founder of Michelle Durpetti Events. Unsurprisingly, many of these days in the coming year fall during the warmer months. This year, couples appear to be particularly drawn to June 14, a date Durpetti recommends. “It’s ideal for those wanting to tie the knot before the height of the summer heat, with blooming flowers and comfortable temperatures creating a picturesque setting,” she says. And coming just a week later, June 21 is also a popular date for couples tying the knot in 2025, due to it being the summer solstice. “With the longest day of the year as your backdrop, there’s something inherently magical about a solstice wedding,” Durpetti says. Late September is also shaping up to be a popular period for 2025 weddings. “September 20th allows couples to enjoy the early fall vibe, avoiding the scorching days of summer while still steering clear of the chill that arrives later in the season,” Hennessey says. Durpetti adds that the following Saturday, September 27, is also a common 2025 date.

Popular Dates in Numerology

Numerology, known as the mystical relationship between numbers and coinciding events, offers couples a chance to align their wedding day with positive energies and intentions. “In 2025, the year carries the vibrational energy of nine, representing fulfillment, unity, and the completion of cycles—ideal for a fresh beginning in marriage,” Hennessey says. She adds that 4/5/25 (a Saturday) and 8/8/2025 (a Friday) are popular dates this year. The former’s ascending numeric sequence is a symbol of growth, while the latter’s digits reflect abundance and balance.

Couples are often drawn to dates that include repeating numbers because they feel balanced and harmonious, Durpetti says. As a result, 5/25/25 and 1/25/25 (both Saturdays) are popular wedding dates this year. “The number 25 is associated with great wisdom, as well as spirituality, so it’s a special number to have a double association for your wedding anniversary, especially alongside the number one, which represents new beginnings and possibilities,” says Judy Maligaspe, the owner and lead planner of Wera Events. Other dates of note include 3/3/25, as the number three signifies joy and creativity, and 11/11/25, a day that symbolizes alignment and synchrony, Durpetti adds.

Long Weekends

Squeezing in an extra day for travel or additional celebrations through a holiday isn’t a new phenomenon for couples. “A long holiday weekend is ideal [for a wedding], as it allows guests to partake in multiple events like a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, and farewell brunch without having to worry about taking too much extra time off work,” says Maligaspe. And in 2025, those three-day weekends are still popular wedding dates. Memorial Day weekend is a common choice, but Hennessey says Labor Day weekend appears to be even more alluring. “The late summer weather often provides warm, sunny days paired with cooler evenings, making it ideal for outdoor ceremonies and tented receptions,” she says. “Couples also appreciate the festive energy of the season, as everyone embraces one final summer hurrah before fall routines set in.”

Popular Dates in Astrology

Couples with a petulance for astrology may gravitate toward dates with the right planetary alignment, such as June 10, 2025, when Jupiter is in Cancer. “Jupiter, the planet of luck, growth and prosperity, thrives in Cancer, the sign that rules home and family,” says Adama Sesay, an astrologer. “This year-long transit occurs once every 12 years, making it a unique and auspicious time to marry and add a new addition to your family.” Certain stretches in the spring and fall this year also have positive astrological meanings, making them an ideal time to say “I do.” “Venus, the ruler of love and marriage, is in her home sign of Taurus [from] April 6 to June 2, emphasizing stability and romance,” Sesay says. “From October 13 to November 5, Venus is in her other home sign, Libra, enhancing harmony, balance, and beauty.”

Wedding Dates to Avoid in 2025

However, there are also some wedding dates experts suggest avoiding in 2025. Regardless of the year, Friday the 13th is a date most couples skip due to its long-standing association with bad luck. And unless you want to lean into the spooky aesthetic associated with Halloween, October 31 is a date many couples strike from their list as well.

There are also some astrological dates Sesay recommends avoiding. “Mercury retrograde occurs three to four times a year, creating confusion and communication mishaps,” she says. To prevent any chaos from occurring on your big day, she suggests not scheduling your nuptials between March 15 and April 7, July 18 and August 11, or November 9 and November 29. In addition to Mercury retrograde, couples should also be cognizant of any periods when Venus is in retrograde, which occurs from March 2 to April 12 this year. “Venus governs love, relationships, and harmony, so it’s best to avoid Venus in retrograde periods as well,” says Sesay. “Occurring every 18 months, Venus retrograde can bring reflection or reevaluation of relationships and love, making it less ideal for weddings.” And pay attention to eclipses, which occur on March 25 and December 31 in 2025. “Eclipses can be interpreted as disruptive energy, so it’s better to stay away from those dates to avoid having that energy present for your wedding day,” says Maligaspe.
