If there’s a celebrity couple that has the public on engagement watch, it’s Zendaya and Tom Holland. The A-list duo, who got together in 2021 after co-starring in Spider-Man: Homecoming, is one of Hollywood’s darling pairs—and given the fact that they’re entering the fourth year of their relationship, it’s natural that they have us all on the edge of our seats, hoping for an engagement announcement (and, of course, a photo of a ring). We might have gotten our wish: The Dune actress stepped out at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on January 5, 2025, wearing a boulder of a diamond on her left ring finger (yep, that finger!). Though fans and outlets alike were quick to comment on her dramatic hair change (she debuted a chin-length auburn bob on the red carpet) and burnt orange custom Louis Vuitton gown, we’d argue that a could-be engagement ring from Holland just might be the most interesting element of her awards show look.

Since Zendaya—who was nominated in the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category for her Challengers performance (her film Dune II was also up for the Best Motion Picture – Drama award)—didn’t comment on the highly faceted cushion-cut diamond, which had a button back and was set in an east-west orientation on a gold band, we can’t know for sure if this is definitely an engagement ring (and a sign that she and Holland have changed their relationship status). It’s very possible that the ring is just that: a beautiful (and on-loan) accessory to her show-stopping look. The ring is, however, different from the rest of her jewels, which were by Bulgari; the diamond in question is an engagement ring from London-based designer Jessica McCormack, according to an anonymous tip received by Deux Moi. We found it on the jeweler’s website (in the bridal section!), and though the price is available upon request, the Deux Moi insider noted it cost around $200,000.
Though we’ll have to wait for the Challengers star to confirm or deny these engagement rumors (which are commonplace for these two!), there are a few signs to suggest that she and her longtime boyfriend have become fiancés. In a recent interview with Men’s Health that hit stands on January 2, 2025, Holland actually skipped a few steps ahead of engagement and marriage and brought up the matter of children. “When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore,” Holland told the outlet. “Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth.”
Is Holland’s comment a clue to the fact that he and Zendaya are gearing up to kick off their married life? Are they that much closer to starting a family? Only time will tell. The couple has always been notoriously private about their bond and will likely take their time sharing the news with the public if they are, in fact, engaged. According to Holland, the duo doesn’t enjoy the public nature of their high-profile partnership, which is part of the reason why they rarely walk red carpets together—”because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us,” he told Men’s Health.

This isn’t the first time Holland has opened up about the struggles of having a relationship in the public eye. “One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world,” Holland told GQ in 2021. The takeaway? Though it certainly is possible that Holland and Zendaya are engaged—and no, it wouldn’t be unusual for the actress to tease the news to the world on her own, without her boyfriend (or fiancé!) by her side—we won’t have confirmation until the tight-lipped couple decides to loop everyone in.
