Who Is Brock Purdy’s Wife, Jenna Brandt?

Brock Purdy, the 24-year-old starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, became a household name (if your household watches football, that is!) in his rookie season, when he went from a third-string back-up to a team leader. In the wake of major injuries, he stepped up to help the 49ers bring home a division title and even appeared in an NFC Championship game. The following year, Purdy—who is now the team’s starting quarterback—took the 49ers all the way to Super Bowl LVIII, where they suffered an overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Now in the thick of his third season in the NFL, Purdy has someone pretty special cheering him on in the stands: his wife, Jenna Brandt (now Purdy!).

Though both Brandt and Purdy are relatively private, the couple, who tied the knot earlier this year just weeks after the Super Bowl, have been pretty open about publicly marking major relationship milestones and sharing how they feel about each other with the press. “It was a pretty special moment to be able to go through that whole season last year of football, Super Bowl, and all the craziness and coming back from surgery to then marrying my best friend,” Purdy told NBC Sports earlier this year. “That was the best day of the year for me. Looking back at it, we’re just so thankful for everyone in our lives. To come together as one with my wife and my best friend, there’s nothing better.”

From what we can tell on social media, it’s clear that Brandt, who has over 106,000 followers on Instagram, feels the same way about her husband—and what’s just as clear is that they have tons in common, from their values to their shared alma mater (they met in college!). Ahead, discover everything you need to know about Brandt, a former athlete, and her relationship with Purdy.

She Was Born and Raised in Iowa

Brandt, born on October 26, 1999, grew up on a farm in rural Iowa with her parents, Kevin and Amy Brandt, and her three siblings, Kaylyn, Isaiah, and Morgan. While in high school, Brandt regularly posted on Instagram about farm life and sports—while attending Sumner-Fredericksburg High School, she became captain of the volleyball team, a sport she played all four years; she also competed in track and field.

Her sports background informed her choice of college: During her senior year (she was a 2018 graduate), she announced that she committed to Iowa State, where she went on to play volleyball at the collegiate level.

Brandt and Purdy Are (Probably) College Sweethearts

Though Brandt and Purdy have never confirmed exactly how they met, it was likely on campus. They both attended Iowa State, and were even in the same class year (Purdy, who is from Arizona, was also a freshman in 2018; he studied communications). Though Purdy stayed at the university for the full duration of his college career (he announced his decision to enter the NFL draft in 2022, during his senior year), Brandt, a kinesiology major, ultimately transferred to the University of Northern Iowa.

Brandt seemingly confirmed that they met in college in November 2023. “Back where it all started,” she wrote alongside a photo of her and Purdy standing on the field at Jack Trice Stadium, Iowa State’s home arena.

She’s an Athlete, Too

Part of Brandt’s decision to transfer to the University of Northern Iowa likely involved her commitment to volleyball. An athlete in her own right, she played with the Iowa State Cyclones during her freshman and sophomore years at her first alma mater; while there, she tried out for the U.S. Collegiate National Team and the USA Women’s Volleyball National Team, per People. At the end of 2020, she shared that she was changing schools and that she was excited to become a Panther in her next chapter. Her volleyball career ended when she graduated from college in 2022.

She’s Been Publicly Connected to Purdy Since 2022

A few short months after college graduation, Brandt made her and Purdy’s relationship Instagram official. She posted a photo of the pair on her family farm in Iowa. “My roots and my boy,” she captioned the image carousel, which also included a photo of the couple on an ATV.

She and Purdy Got Engaged in July 2023

Just under a year after the couple announced their relationship, on July 2, 2023, Purdy—who would go on to become the starting quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers just a few months later—got down on one knee during a trip with both of their families in Saint Cloud, Florida. “WE GET TO DO LIFE TOGETHER…FOREVER!” Brandt wrote on Instagram to announce the news.

Brandt Has an Elongated Cushion Cut Engagement Ring

When Brandt announced her and Purdy’s engagement on Instagram, she also debuted her simple and classic engagement ring: an elongated cushion-cut diamond set on a gold band.

She’s a Nature Enthusiast

Though Brandt’s Instagram has lots of football and relationship milestone content, it’s also bursting with adventure. She’s a clear nature enthusiast: She’s hiked Glacier National Park, jet skied in Turks and Caicos, climbed Machupicchu, skied a few snowcaps in Colorado, and more.

She and Purdy Got Married in March 2024

Though the 49ers lost Super Bowl LVIII in overtime to the Kansas City Chiefs in February 2024, Purdy and Brandt had a major victory to celebrate a month later, when they tied the knot in Des Moines, Iowa. The bride wore a strapless A-line wedding dress for the occasion, complete with buttons all the way down the back. After tying the knot in a church (Purdy was tearful at the altar!), the couple celebrated at their romantic reception, which featured white-and-green florals and a classic white wedding cake.

Brandt has supported Purdy throughout the entirety of his young football career, from his rookie season to the present. “What a season to be proud & thankful for,” she shared after her now-husband’s tough Super Bowl loss earlier this year. “Always cheering you on, babes,” she wrote a few months prior, at the top of the 2023 season.
