[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Alexis and Truett’s Montage Palmetto Bluff wedding weekend was a perfect blend of glamorous, sumptuous details with a neutral color palette and romantic design. The couple, originally hailing from Florida, wanted to create a perfect wedding weekend for their 100 guests from near and far that exuded sophistication and personal touches throughout. The couple worked with the planning team at Amanda Rose Weddings to concoct a design that was filled with candlelight, towering floral compotes of orchids, and local foliage. The couple chose to have their first look on the Palmetto Bluff property, nestled underneath the ancient oak trees and Spanish moss of the Village Park Square of the property. An intimate, candlelit ceremony in the May River Chapel treated guests to heartfelt vows and stunning views of the May River at the back of the chapel. Guests were ushered to an outdoor cocktail hour on the lawn, featuring plenty of refreshments for the hot summer day, and live jazz music playing in the background while guests and the couple mingled. As the sun began to set over Bluffton, the couple joined their guests in the Oak Ballroom of the property, where they were treated to an all-white reception design filled with candles, glass, and white orchids and roses down three long king tables to encourage guest mingling throughout the evening. [field title=”Proposal Story”]The couple met in late 2018 at a locals favorite country bar in Orlando, Florida, where the two met by chance and immediately hit it off, dancing the night away together. Alexis, a physician, was just about to leave the Orlando area for New York to complete her medical school rotations, and the two agreed to keep in touch as she embarked on her newest adventure. When Alexis found herself back in Orlando for additional rotations, the two reconnected and made things official.
Alexis’s medical career brought her to Chicago in 2021, and the couple embarked on a 1200-mile,18-hour long distance experience. Despite the distance, the two of them made it work, and in 2023, Truett surprised Alexis with a trip to Napa Valley, where he proposed to her at a favorite vineyard! [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Alexis opted for a striking Galia Lahav wedding gown that featured a fitted bodice with intricate lace detailing and delicate floral appliqués throughout the garment. Wanting something a little different than the traditional white wedding gown, Alexis adored the ‘just barely blush’ coloring of this gown, paired with a slight shimmer throughout. The dress included straps adorned with floral accents, adding a whimsical and ethereal touch to the look. The bodice featured a deep, sweetheart neckline and parallel cut for the back. Flowing from the fitted waist, the skirt was voluminous with layers and layers of tulle, creating a soft and dreamy silhouette that was perfectly complemented by the gorgeous light and lush greenery of the Palmetto Bluff property. The gown extended into a dramatic train that was mirrored by the bride’s gossamer cathedral-length veil in the same tulle featured throughout the gown.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Alexis’s bridesmaids’ gowns were perfectly elegant and coordinated, complementing the bride’s gorgeous blush Galia Lahav wedding dress. Each bridesmaid wore a gown of floor-length chiffon in a light neutral blush tone from Azazie, adding a gentle, ethereal vibe to the wedding’s overall color palette. The dresses had a halter neckline with a keyhole detail, creating a contemporary look. The chiffon fabric was perfect for the hot summer wedding day, lightweight and flowy in body, creating lots of visual movement and keeping the bridesmaids comfortable. Like the bride, each bridesmaid carried an all-white bouquet of orchids and roses, completing their neutral yet glamorous overall look.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Truett and his groomsmen kept things classic in two piece tuxedos, finished with black bow ties, crisp white tuxedo shirts, and velvet smoking slippers. [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]In keeping with the theme of their Lowcountry wedding weekend, the couple worked with the catering team at Montage Palmetto Bluff to develop a menu that was delicious and southern. Guests were immediately greeted with signature cocktails as cocktail hour began, featuring a ‘his and hers’ offering of a Blueberry Mule and a Peaches & Bourbon. Cocktail hour also featured passed hors d’oeuvres of caprese bites, chicken and waffles, mini lobster rolls, and bacon-wrapped dates.
As the couple and their guests danced the night away late into the evening, late night snacks of mini milkshakes and sliders were passed around, much to their guests’ enjoyment! [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]At the very start of the design process, the bride, working with her planning and design team at Amanda Rose Weddings, wanted to concoct a wedding weekend design that featured lots of neutral, lush floral design, dramatic compotes, and lots of candlelight throughout! Working with local Lowcountry floral designer, Kato Floral Designs, a design of whimsical, organic florals were created for the wedding day. The bridal bouquet was kept modern and clean, featuring an all-white assortment of white and ivory roses and a cascading flow of orchid blooms and stems down the front. The all-white design was carried into both the ceremony and reception florals, which were both filled with white blooms, local lush greenery accents, and candlelight throughout.
For their May River Chapel ceremony, the couple opted for a design blending both the elegant and lush, creating a serene and romantic atmosphere as they shared their vows with one another. The aisle was lined with arrangements of white roses and orchids, paired with flowing greenery that cascaded over the sides of the wooden pews. At the altar, a wooden cross served as the focal point, framed by a large arched window that filled the space with natural light, giving an airy and open feel. Beneath the window, clusters of candles in glass cylinders were arranged in various heights, enhancing the ambiance with a warm, intimate glow. The combination of white florals, greenery, and candlelight complemented the chapel’s classic architecture, creating a beautiful and peaceful setting for the ceremony.
Alexis & Truett’s romantic reception in the Montage property’s Oak Ballroom was thepièce de résistance of their sophisticated, luxurious wedding and floral design. Three long king tables were set with tall, lush arrangements of white roses, hydrangeas, and other soft white blooms. These towering centerpieces created an elegant vertical element, drawing the eye upward and adding grandeur to the room’s vaulted ceilings and tall windows. Each table was arranged with plenty of candles in clear glass and touches of gold throughout. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Alexis and Truett opted for a gorgeous, all-white three-tiered wedding cake from the Montage patisserie covered in white fondant and a cascade of white fondant orchids. The cake featured tiers of Southern Magnolia Wedding Cake, with yellow cake and chocolate icing and candied cashews throughout, as well as Yellow Hawthorne Wedding Cake, with dark chocolate cake, chocolate ganache, and peanut butter cups.[/field]
